CLOSE QUARTERS BATTLE! The name suggest what you will expect and it delivers. This is a multi-complex with 30+ doors (including half door/crawl space types doors you would find in a basement), with a variety of lighting (Full, Half and Alleyway/Red Lighting). The only standup articles are wooden obstacles, Tire stacks and a column in the back room. There are tones of places to hide and sniper from. This place is very Las Vegas 2 (Tom Clancy) like of atmosphere as when you are taking fires you can't just assume it is coming from in front of you. You need to move as a group and as pairs to clear rooms and communication is key when playing.

If you are the type of person that likes to switch things up in their game and learn something new then this is something for you. THIS IS NOT A TYPICAL INDOOR SENARIO FIELD OR SPEEDBALL FIELD !!! If you want to go here and throw paint you will be disappointed. This facility is meant to be a military/swat type feel with intense fire fights using a limited bunch of ammo. This place is not meant to be one man with a marker and 18 pods carry 2 cases of paint holding it down. A testament to this is the 135 Ball LIMIT you get and the MilSig Markers you get as a standard kit.

I went for 4 hours and I was playing for 3 hours with just a Tac-8 and it was fine except I only had one clip. If I had 3 more then I would have been more active in the fire fights . You really have to move as a group to clear the rooms as the defenders have the upper hand sometimes if the attacking force is just getting their assignments together while they are under fire. We played several games with 2 defenders and 5 attackers and the games took 10 and 15 min. The loading area/waiting area/dead box has a projector displaying 9 Closed Circuit cameras on the field so you can see all the action. The staff is friendly and the majority seem to be part of the CSPO. I have videos of the place and pics of the place so you get a feel for what it looks like. If you want your senses assaulted while under fire and working as a team to take out and clear a complex, CQB is the place to be. The loading area will eventually have tables and additional furniture but this Paintball complex has added an additional choice in a world that only had two (Scenario or Speedball), now there is CQB, a paintball experience all of its own.

I've played in a few indoor fields but was blown away when I walked into this place. Doors and windows (wooden) that OPEN AND CLOSE. Any scenario player can tell you this is a god send. The field was kept fairly clean, the walls were a little mucky but the floor (concrete) was immaculate, no slipping. Lots of buildings and little areas to crawl/climb/jump over. Refs were really into any ways to get into a building we could think of. There was no CO2 fill station yet, so you're stuck playing with what you bring unless you have an HPA tank. They rented me a small HPA bottle with unlimited fills for $5 though, which I thought was a great deal. As well, there's no food/drink machines so bring some gatorade or something because you WILL sweat like a beast. The staff is this places 2nd best resource (the first being the field). They were really friendly and helpful. Asking our input on how they ran games, the field setup, different ideas they were thinking of doing in the future. I also have to mention the weekend deals. Saturday and Sunday, 12 - 4pm is BYOP. You can play for 25 dollars (including air fills) + whatever your paint cost you and your friends. You can't get a better deal than that in the GTA. Conclusion: GO PLAY THERE, you won't be disappointed!

I went to Close Quarter Battle for the first time a couple of weeks ago with a group of 10 guys from work who ranged from 1 to 10 in experience level. The guys at CQB know the capabilities of their facility so well that they can make your experience as fast or as slow paced as you would want to. The variety of games and the duration of each game will change the difficulty and your strategy accordingly, due to the added realism of limited ammo. Don't get me wrong, you pay a flat rate and its all-you-can-eat paint and compression at CQB, what i mean is you're limited to a certain amount of ammo each game. For this reason, this place can challenge anyone; from the trigger happy, to the sniper, to the aggressive, to the conservative, to the tactical strategist .

Unique features I found to be most mentionable where intentionally flickering lights, dark hallways that weren't slippery, smoke, doors and windows that open and close, sturdy ladders, plenty of tactical cover, cameras that watch the field from the pro shop, all the gear you get (k series milsig mag fed marker, light weight swat helmet and mask, tactical vest, additional mags) as the base package which is incredible value plus the list of additional gear that's available (red dot op sights, flashlight, gloves, padding, pistol, holster and mags, soon to come riot shields, i know I'm forgetting things so check out their website or call the crew for the full list). the drive home point here is an awesome and unique tactical facility at a great price.

This place is a hidden gem in the industry as it is in its infancy only being open for a few months. A few people mentioned that i should not have written this review because they wanted to keep the place under wraps for themselves because the locations they are used to are now tainted in comparison. I don't blame them, this place is simply unmatched. But it wouldn't be fair to fellow paintballers and the guys at CQB. They have worked hard to produce an outstanding facility that is clean (not just for a paintball field), competitively priced, and safe that will teach the new, challenge the skilled and amaze everyone.

Check it out for yourself soon because no words will truly express the adrenaline rush at CQB.

Enjoy and make 'em count, Matt.

Will and the Crew, thanks again from me and the guys. seeya next week

Let me start by saying my group and I drove a total of 9 hours just to play at this field...

It was absolutely worth it! The field far surpassed my already high expectations!

For only $90/player:
-MILSIG Elite
-Tactical Vest
-Mask
-Unlimited Air!
-Unlimited Paint!
-4 hours of play

The MILSIG is an incredible marker and the staff keep them in top notch condition. We were hoping to get the mag-fed version but unfortunately the abuse to the mag system from regular renters made them unavailable to most of my group. (They still provided us with two functional mag-fed markers.) The tactical vest is comfortable and breathable and does a great job of carrying all you need on the field. I believe you can request to use the EYE Tactical Mask with helmet but apparently those fog-up too often. We were given some JT masks with thermal lenses and they worked flawlessly. You can also rent a pistol for an extra $20 however they happened to be out of 12gr CO2 cartridges when we went so I can't say much about the pistols. Additional equipment for rental includes flashlights, red dot sights, and knee pads.

If you're familiar with the cost of playing paintball, you'll know that $90 for rental and unlimited air and paint is a real steal! The field uses V1's and provide HPA (and CO2?). Something you must know before playing is that you can only bring a maximum of 135 rounds onto the field. This makes for a far more tactical game where you're conserving your ammo and placing shots that count.

I walked with my jaw to the ground as we were given a tour of the field. This place is every scenario/milsim player's dream! CQB Tactical Paintball has constructed an intricate multi-level playground with catwalks, ladders, stairs, sniper posts... Most windows feature sliding panes so you can stick just your barrel out to engage targets stealthily. You can kick open doors! One of my favourite features was the ability to create your own cover. You can find miscellaneous items around the field (ie. tires, plywood, car doors, chairs, tables...) and use them as a shield or as fortification for the position you're holding. Another awesome feature is the lighting which can be dimmed to complete darkness. The staff were constantly asking us what lighting setting we preferred for the next game. They have fog machines and strobe lights to add to the confusion. There are CCTV cameras around the field and the live footage of the on-going game is projected on a wall in the briefing room.

I'll conclude with something that struck me the most: the OUTSTANDING STAFF. They were all down-to-earth, friendly, helpful, and fun (painful) to play with! The owners and refs were extremely accommodating to my group's requests. They kept every game fun and safe. Between games they made sure everyone was refilled on ammo and air and they even provided us with snacks!

Awesome rental gear + incredible prices + kick butt facility + staff that make sure you have fun = a unique paintball field and paintball experience that will draw you back for more and more!

I plan on going often in the near future.

PS. Thanks again Will. (Patrick)

I've only go Paintballing a few times so my review is not going to be all that technical or informative. More of a telling of my experience with CQB.

Prior to coming to CQB my friends and I would usually go to Sgt. Splatter's. I must say, the two are miles apart when it comes to having a quality paintballing experience.

If you want a run-n-gun thrill then Sgt Splatter's is probably better, but considering the sand, frequent gun jams and the mysterious 'fog' around the place, you could probably find a better place elsewhere.

CQB, on the other hand, is almost polar opposite. It requires more strategy and team work but the results are that much more gratifying. It is a close to actual urban warfare as one can get without actually being in it.

The staff there were amazing. Very nice and very helpful. Only the three of us went so the refs joined us to make it a bit more exciting. First couple of games were the typical Attack-Defend style games. I could tell the Refs were getting a little bored playing with us novices, but they kept things up-beat and made the games as enjoyable as possible for us.

I had read about The Terminator game, where one person is the Terminator and can only be killed if shot in a particular location on the body. Everyone else is playing against the Terminator. I had suggested the game to the Refs and they were very willing to try it out. They even showed concern for me when I volunteered to be the Terminator. They were worried that I was going be inundated with paintballs and covered with welts and bruises afterwards.

Everyone loved the game, Refs included. The Refs liked the hunting aspect of the game (as I would go in first and hide). I just liked that even after I was shot I could still keep playing and killing :p. I did get a few more bruises then my usual paintball outings, but like they say: no pain no game. The way we played seemed a bit advantageous to the Terminator, so there are still a few flaws, but hopefully the Refs will keep playing it and refine it further.

At $45/hour it isn't the cheapest, but the quality of my experience made it all worth it. I had opted for the T8 hand gun (extra $20). Which I found to be very useful in tight locations and as a back up to my regular rifle when I was under heavy fire. Highly recommend it to all players.

The Standard Equipment includes:
Rifle
4 cartridges (18 rounds per cartridge)
Tactical Vest
Helmet
Mask and Goggles

With the T8 I got a leg holster, said handgun, and 3 clips of 8+ rounds each.

You may also rent gloves (@ $5), which I should have went for as my hands were hit the most (? I'm confused as well ?)

Many thanks to Alex and Mike for keeping it fun, and thanks to Will for the pop!

To paraphrase the original Terminator:

I'll be back, and I'll bring more friends.

CQB is made for the paintballers who love to mix up different types of scenario`s. We have played everything from hostage rescue to elimination. CQB is one of the best set-up paintball fields ive been to. Camera`s monitor what`s goin on at all times to ensure no one cheats and to make sure everyone is safe.

The service alone at CQB is a reason to come play. The main reason my friends and i keep coming back to CQB is the great service and the determination of Will and his team to make sure that everyone is having a great time and that everyone is happy.

I recommend CQB to anyone wanting to try something new and play in a high quality paintball field for a very good price. I will continue to play at CQB and so will my friends. Cant wait to go back this sunday :)

Excellent indoor field if you've outgrown shooting 12 year olds @ the rest of the GTA's fields. Very tactically oriented, lots of atmosphere enchancers (light dimmers all over field, strobes to disorient etc...) Close Quaters Ball says it all, check out the website, you'll love it too.

We usually go woodsball (literally) since its the only way to have a game thats trully your own. But this place definately fits the bill for the winter woodsball blues
