i believe in this type of venue. i believe that tactical teams across ontario want to participate in a tournament to test their skills. i believe that cqb2 is the venue to host this type of tournament.
a points system based on kills, objectives, staying alive etc against a dedicated opfor. i have in mind a group of 15 to 20 operators to rotate in and out of each mission.
excellent prizes and a plaque for each operator at the end of the season, a leader board on our new website soon to be operational, a team page for all of you to post your guns, gear and anything else related to tactical training.
what i need from you is...
1. a representative from each team contact me with their interest to participate 2. do you guys want this one saturday or sunday each month or every other month 3. do you want the missions to start at either facility and conclude at the other 4. alternating day missions with night missions..you guys decide
if interest is there i will update all of you with specifics as to entry fees, paint fees, prizes etc....
on a serious note, we have seen posts like this in the past and they never seem to get off the ground. i think this is the perfect venue for a cqb ongoing tournament series. i'm in if all of you are..really up to you so let me know.

on another forum it was suggested that teams should be less than 10. this of course is ok...i am looking for feedback about the venue and the style of play...dedicated opfor? teams play each other? you guys decide...

Inops Suspicio would be very interested in such a tournament. Myself and a couple of the guys will be there on Sunday and would love to discuss it further with you then if you have the time then.
Either way, we are extremely interested and if I do not talk with you on Sunday, I will be in touch by other means.

In my limited experience it is often difficult to assemble 10 people regularly, but this should not discourage teams of ten or more people from participating. To regularly get 10 or more team members you need at least 15 to 20 people on the roster.
One solution might be that teams may combine by "luck of the draw" or smaller teams may play as the Opfor for a different point structure. This may help in encouraging interested groups that do not practice regularly into participating more often. It should still be stressed that the type of play will be competitive and not for the occasional renter.
I’m sure that some will point out that a tournament of this type has been tried before, because it has. In my opinion the reason it didn’t succeed as hoped was mainly due to the price and that it was being handled by an outside vendor. I understand that the price was realistic for an outside vendor to make it worth their while.
One type of event that I would like to see in the proposed tourney is the type put forth by Black Ops Soldier and Tru Sim. That is one event that I wish circumstances were in my favor, and that I could have made it.
I think this could generate a lot of interest and I sincerely hope that it will be success and generate more Mil-sim attention.

i am completely open to format suggestions. what i really need to see is teams jumping in that they are interested. we can hold a meeting of sorts and get everyones input if they wish. i want to make this work as i think our cqb2 facility is ideally suited.

Executive Tactical Solutions is interested. But will need more info. I also have some questions and ideas about this tournament. Saturday would most likely be the best option especially if there will be night operations. Once a month with a solid day of the month would probably be the best choice for the Tournament. ETS will be there on Sunday March 14th if you would like to discuss any of this.

A solid reasonable discussable date should be established so that all the heads of interested teams can meet and discuss this. Definitely want to see this work and it takes more then a hand full of people to do so.

Hey Romulus, Was just reading this post and I think that an 8 man team would perhaps be more suited to what I think you are going to do. As Starky said, getting ten can be very difficult, but eight might be a slightly easier number for teams to come up with on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. As for how you set up your tournament, I personally would like to see a format that allowed teams the opportunity to battle it out for supremacy over the other. It would be very cool if the team who wins the tournament that month or every couple of months has their team name and placing dislayed for all to see. That would totally inspire me to want to take that team down and kick some ass! Anyway, I think this is a great idea and I can't see any reason why the teams that frequent CQB would not get involved. In fact, I would like some of the other teams out there that claim to have such mad skills to come on out and prove it! Spook 1st S.S.F.
